I’ve said this before and I’ll point it out again -
Menstruation is caused by change in hormonal levels to stop the creation of a uterine lining and encourage the body to flush the lining out. The body does this by lowering estrogen levels and raising testosterone.
Or, to put it more plainly “That time of the month” is when female hormones most closely resemble male hormones. So if (cis) women aren’t suited to office at “That time of the month” then (cis) men are NEVER suited to office.
If you are a dude and don’t dig the ladies around you at their time of the month, just think! That is you all of the time.
And, on a final note, post-menopausal (cis) women are the most hormonally stable of all human demographics. They have fewer hormonal fluctuations of anyone, meaning older women like Hilary Clinton and Elizabeth Warren would theoretically be among the least likely candidates to make an irrational decision due to hormonal fluctuations, and if we were basing our leadership decisions on hormone levels, then only women over fifty should ever be allowed to hold office.
“We have long ago forgotten what it means to contemplate some- thing. With the click of a computer mouse we can get the answer, or what promises to be the answer, to almost any question we can imagine. All of the world’s most ancient spiritual teachings are but a click or download away, and yet we remain so lost to ourselves, so cut off from what nourishes the soul, that we are collectively suffocating under the weight of our ignorance and alienation from the sacred dimension of Life.”—Adyashanti - Enlightenment and The End of Your World (via oceanandwave)
“Enlightenment is not becoming a different person; it’s becoming the person you already are without any hesitation or any reservation — having the insight, and the courage, and the openness — to be the person you already are, and to trust the wisdom that’s already within.”—Reggie Ray (via thegoldeneternity)
“The greatest prison that people live in is the fear of what others think… All you have to do is dictate the norms of society, of what’s acceptable and what’s not, and you have yourself an army of people who suppress each other with these norms. This is how the Elites find it so easy to control the rest of the population.”—David Icke (via raisingconsciousness)
“The ordinary man is living a very abnormal life, because his values are upside down. Money is more important than meditation; logic is more important than love; mind is more important than heart; power over others is more important than power over one’s own being. Mundane things are more important than finding some treasures which death cannot destroy.”—
“Compassion hurts. When you feel connected to everything, you also feel responsible for everything. And you cannot turn away. Your destiny is bound with the destinies of others. You must either learn to carry the Universe or be crushed by it. You must grow strong enough to love the world, yet empty enough to sit down at the same table with its worst horrors.”—Andrew Boyd (via purplebuddhaproject)
“Because lying to your kids about sex helps nobody. Telling them that sex is “only between mommies and daddies” is a lie that leads to confused, hormone charged teenagers. Telling them that sex is “only something that happens when two people love each other very much” is a lie that causes hormone charged teenagers to confuse “love” with “lust,” or “obsession.” It leads to leaps of logic like, “If I have sex with them, we must be in love.” Or worse- “If I love them, I have to have sex with them.” And how many teenage tragedies are based on that misconception?”—Lea Grover, "We Don’t Play With Our Vulvas At The Table" (via themindislimitless)
